Land of Kellams

I woke up early, prepared milk for Connor, put my husband's work clothes to wash, kissed my family good-bye, and I was off. I shopped for curtains and returned $46 in merchandise to Target. I shopped at KMart, purchased nothing, but made plans to return to purchase cafe rods, all while having a wonderful conversation with my sister Cynthia about her trip to Philly. I shopped at Anna's Linnens, and came away with 3 cream-colored queen flat sheets to make curtains, only $5 each, and an oversized, super-plush, raspberry bath matt, only $9. To go with the fabulous bath mat, I picked up the matching toilet seat cover, also 50% off at $4. While there, I also decided to make Connor's bedroom curtain out of this beautiful green table cloth I have folded up in the closet, costing me $0. On my way to the car, I called my hubby and reminded him to put his work clothes in the dryer. I then shopped at Walmart, and had a super find for Natasha's bedroom, I found not only one, but two, count them, two, purple "bedazzle with decorative sequin" curtain panels, on clearance for only $5 each, no sewing required. I then rushed home, packed my kids and hubby into the car, and rushed him off to work.

...and this was all before 11am...

Then, I drove back home, pulled into the garage, dashed into the house to find and put in the car something my hubby had forgot to take to work with him, then took Natasha in for a potty break (I think she mostly wanted to see her new bath mat and seat cover in action), packed her back in the car, then went back in to find Natasha's new Cinderella computer (it is her current most favorite toy in the WHOLE world), got back in the car and almost drove away until I had a brilliant idea, and threw the recycling, including the glass soda bottles that have been in the fridge way too long, in the trunk. I then drove past Cynthia's house, picked up Kamila, drove to the recycling center, (hey $4 is $4), and we were off back to Anna's Linnens to see if lightening could strike twice and I could find another raspberry bathmat, it did not, and then we completed our circle back to Matt's work to give him the items he had forgotten.

...and this was all before 11:30 am...

Next, I took Kamila to Target to shop for a birthday gift for her friend (as a Thank You for coming with). As we parked at Target, I discovered Connor needed to be changed, and I needed diapers and wipes. So, Kamila shopped for her friend, and I shopped for Connor (I also picked Connor up his fist "wagon wheels"), then went to change Connor's diaper, and as it turned out, help Natasha with a potty break, too. Just as I came out of the restroom, Kamila walked up with her purchases, and we were off.

...12pm..

I returned Kamila home, and took my family in to share (Connor is EXCELLENT baby-therapy) time and my triuphant purchases. That then turned into lunch (Nicole made fantastic sandwiches), and me leaving Natasha with Kamila and Nicole to watch Toy Story 2, while I took Cynthia and Pierce by the bank before dropping them off at the Save Mart Center. I then returned to fetch my daughter, and returned to my home for naptime. During naptime I cuddled, cooed and adored my son, took care of some mail and household business, followed by sending some prints to Costco for printing.

...3:30pm...

After naptime, I packed up my children again, drove back to Cynthia's, picked up Nicole this time, and headed for Costco. We filled up the gas tank, then parked in the shade. Nicole was kind enough to stay in the car with my 2 now sleeping children, while I went in to fulfill Nicole's shopping list (Cynthia had planned to go herself, but she was at the Save Mart Center with Pierce, and Costco closes early on Saturdays), and pick up a few things myself. A triumphant note here is that I actually remembered to take and use the "25 free prints" coupon I have had for about 3 years, so my pictures were $0, and the checker was kind enough to give me the sales coupons that I have wanted to use, but have not been able to find since before the move. This is especially cool, because now I can stop looking for the coupons and feeling bad that I missed out on the savings. Anyway, before we left Costco, Cynthia called that they were ready to be picked up, so off we went to drop off Nicole and the groceries and pick up my purchases and Natasha's Cinderella computer that were accidentally left behind earlier, and then pick up Cythia and Pierce and take them home, so Cynthia could then jump in the car to take Kamila to her birthday party. I had actually agreed to take Kamila, after Costco, but as it turned out, her mom got to take her.

Whew...ok, after that... my children and I went back home, took potty breaks and a quick clothing change for Natasha, then off we went again, this time by the old apartment to check for mail, followed by a quick trip back to Wal Mart, then back full circle once again to my hubby's work, where I squeezed in a conversation with an employee whose daughter goes to the school I teach at about where to find resources on how to explain integers, one more diaper change followed by a potty break, all by 6:45 pm when Matt got off work.

Things slowed down after that. We picked up dinner, went home, had dinner, watched a little TV (we actually have that now :] ), put Natasha to bed, followed by Connor, followed by some Grasshopper cookies. I also filled and ran the dishwasher, did a load of laundry, and washed and sanitized 2 rounds of pump parts and bottle parts. Lastly, I went online, delt with some more business, showed Matt the computer desk I had found for him the night before (and he liked it!), ordered the computer desk, and updated my blog.

Yes, ladies and gentleman, it was a very good day!
